Hi! My name is Casey Hilliard, and I’m a writer based in Los Angeles.

I started working as a Production Assistant in 2017, slowly moving up the ladder until I was a Production Coordinator. Projects included household favs like Guys Grocery Games, as well as niche comedy shows for Dropout TV.

The film and television industry went through some hard times. Shrinking staffs and the Covid Pandemic, followed immediately by the WGA and SAG Strikes in the Summer of 2023. I prided myself on not only surviving, but thriving, during this tumultuous era. The secret? Surround yourself with great people.

Then, in September of 2023, on what should have been a typical “load-in” day, I was unexpectedly struck on stage by a falling light pole. It hit the back of my head, requiring staples, and instantly cracked my two front teeth.

Suffering no long-term damage, the doctors called it a near miss. My parents called it a miracle. For me, it was a wake up call. I had moved to Hollywood to pursue my dream of writing for the screen! I was so close, yet so far. In my heart of hearts, I knew I could not live with myself if I never tried.

So I quit. I hustled. I read books about writing. And I joined a writer’s group. Now I was surrounded by people who shared the same passion as me. With their encouragement and feedback, I was able to complete my first script in 2025 - His Likeness, a comedy western set in modern-day Los Angeles.

Now I work part time as a valet in West Hollywood, supporting myself as I build a writing portfolio. If you relate to my story, please tell me by reaching out here! I am looking for a passionate producer to take these scripts to the next level. I believe in the power of creativity and storytelling. Let’s make something together!
